Team Description

As a key member of the Organizational Learning team, you take the lead to develop the best people to build the best aircraft in the industry.

We are looking for a Technical Learning Advisor in aircraft manufacturing, with a passion for Health & Safety. If you have strong aircraft technical background, a good understanding of occupational health and safety standards, and a love for communicating with colleagues, then this role is for you. You will act as an advisor to analyze, develop, and deliver the best learning solutions. In partnership with cross-functional and inter-site teams, you will drive continuous improvement, to reinforce safe, first-time quality aircraft work

What are your contributions to the team?

  • Deliver orientation and technical training, utilizing a variety of modalities: discussions, audio-visual presentations, interactive activities and hands-on equipment training

  • Take attendance, evaluate and document learner scores and adhere to coordination process

  • Act as a subject matter expert to design, review, edit and update existing training programs, in partnership with subject matter experts

  • Carry out the diagnosis of training needs of the Production Unit or Quality to provide proper training solutions and defining key indicators

  • Manage competency and certification matrices in the learning platform in partnership with Production and Quality

  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of the different regulatory audit and participate in the corresponding audits

  • Provide and/or support on the job coaching and training activities for new and existing employees

  • Determine remedial learning solutions as gaps arise on a case-by-case basis

  • Act as an advisor and resource person, providing the technical expertise required to resolve complex operational problems

  • Lead coaching sessions to provide feedback to learners

  • Interact with production managers, employees and support functions to provide competency advice

  • Participate in Operations governance

  • Maintain classrooms and manage inventory

  • Participate actively in Organizational Learning governance, engagement activities and events

  • Recognize and seize opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Promote quality and operational excellence

How to thrive in this role? Skills, knowledge & experience:

  • You possess a college degree in aircraft structural assembly, avionics, aerospace engineering, health and safety or in a related field.

  • You have a minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a sheet metal mechanic, structural assembler, aircraft mechanic or avionics mechanic

  • You have a strong health & safety mindset and behaviors

  • You have an experience in learning, adult education, project management, coaching

  • You have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, teamwork and analytical skills

  • You have the ability to influence others

  • You are recognized for your ease of adaptation and tolerance to change

  • You have good computer skills (Microsoft Office suite)

  • You have the flexibility to work across all shifts as required

  • You have the willingness to travel to US, Mexico or Montreal, as required
