In your role, you will:
As a Quality Leader for Supplier Quality Management, you will lead a team of professionals and technical staff in ensuring effective management and improvement of supplier quality performance such as non-conformance reduction/elimination, disclosures, customer issues and QIRs, investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action reviews. You will implement proactive & reactive containment mechanisms for ongoing supplier quality performance issues and operational risk mitigation for the Global 5000, 6000, & 7000 Green Aircraft Programs. You will assume a key role in leading Problem Solving, Containment, Corrective Actions, and Solution implementation in order to achieve Supplier performance improvements. Your team will be also in charge of purchased parts conformity via auditing and approving supplier first article Inspections and delta first articles (FAIRs). You will also ensure effective management and real time containment of supplier quality issues and non-conformances on the production line. Working closely with Andon leaders, Methods, Engineering, QC and Production Management, you will ensure with a sense of urgency, that your technical team fixes supplier issues and disruptions impacting our Aero structures, Final Assembly, and Pre-flight areas.
Support daily meetings with Procurement, Supplier Management and Supply Chain teams in order to cascade/ensure priorities alignment.
Support daily meetings with Production floor to cascade/ensure priorities and alignment with your team.
Manage Supplier non-conformances, Line Checks and disclosures on the production Line.
Gather Data and perform preliminary assessments of defects and investigations that arise on the production line.
Manage a team that acts as a communication liaison between the supplier compliance corrective action teams and our operational management across a 4-shift operation (i.e. day, afternoon, night & weekend shifts).
Work closely with Corrective Action Manager, Implement proactive & reactive containment solutions for supplier quality non-conformances and trends to reduce disruption and non-standard work.
Coach and train your team in gathering information and preparing proper PSS’, 4-blocker, & presentations.
Prepare and assist Management in gathering information and preparing presentations.
Attend key meetings/reviews such as Ops Corrective Action Review, Supplier calls, Quality management reviews, Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly reviews with suppliers or Intersite in order to drive performance improvement.
Demonstrate leadership, entrepreneurship, project management skills, and commitment to teamwork.
Support, mentor, and coach a team of Supplier Quality Technicians to assure product conformity and promote continuous improvement.
Maintain and develop team skills and ensure compliance to internal tools & documentations/policies (QDs, QADs, QAPIs).
Use problem solving techniques, six sigma methodology, Kaizen, and other Quality tools to reduce Supplier nonconformities.
Promote and work with other departments to facilitate the resolution of key issues while supporting the business by having containment plans in place at the suppliers.
Drive team results/priorities daily while having an overall roadmap for improvement.
Manage requests vs priorities based on business needs.
As our ideal candidate,
You hold a university degree in a technical, quality, or project management discipline.
You have working knowledge of Quality Management Systems within a manufacturing environment (i.e. AS9100, ISO, & SMS).
You have minimum 5 years’ management experience in Quality, Supplier Quality, or Continuous Improvement.
You have knowledge in working with unions and collective agreements (would be an asset).
You have strong interpersonal, negotiation, and analytical skills.
You have the ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
You have ethics, integrity and honesty; respect for others; cooperation; motivation to get things done; ability to express ideas logically and coherently; positive attitude; ability to overcome obstacles; assumes full responsibility; utilize the appropriate resources to solve problems; reacts quickly to unforeseen events.
You hold experience and/or knowledge in supplier process & product audits.
You hold experience and/or knowledge in structured and analytical problem solving techniques.
You hold experience and/or knowledge in complex problem solving capability (i.e. Kepner Tregoe) would be an asset.
You hold experience and/or knowledge in presenting and effective communication at all levels of the business.
You hold experience and/or knowledge in Andon, effective containment, and corrective action methodologies.
You hold experience and/or knowledge in understanding Drawings, GDT, and CATIA would be an asset.
You hold experience and/or knowledge in CAPA processes & COPQ reduction planning.
You hold experience and/or knowledge in familiarity with Aircraft systems/structures.
You hold experience and/or knowledge in strong Statistical and Computer Software knowledge.
You hold experience and/or knowledge in Product conformity & certification.
You hold experience and/or knowledge in airworthiness regulations.
