In your role you will,

  • Participate and provide technical support to the area of ​​methods, production, quality, etc., in the analysis and solution of problems.

  • Prepare and guarantee the execution of the maintenance plan and certifications according to the schedule.

  • Apply the tools of the Operational Excellence System to implement improvements.

  • Manage and prioritize TO´s (Tooling Order) according to production needs.

  • Have to ensure that preventive and corrective maintenance activities, TSR and tool certifications are executed on time and in proper manner.

  • Coordinate department projects and develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for verification and control tools (QAD 3.8.7.21).

  • Manage budget of the assigned production unit, looking for cost reduction opportunities.

  • Propose and execute improvements in processes related to tooling.

  • Follow up on actions and control of assigned balance scorecard indicators.

  • Coordinate installations, modifications and changes necessary for the development of new projects in the assigned production unit.

  • Make tool cost estimates.

  • Prepare proposals for the development of tools from their conceptualization, design, manufacturing and installation and verify that of others.

  • Design work standards regarding tooling.

  • Coach/Train lower-level agents.

  • Lead new projects, transfers and tool changes.

  • Manage the set of activities related to the development of assembly simulators (jigs) according to established schedules and budgets.

  • Be responsible for ensuring the manufacturing and updating of assembly simulators (Jigs) in accordance with the design, as well as ensuring their operation.

  • Be responsible for the supervision, human development, performance evaluation and motivation of a team of engineers who support the design and manufacturing operation of Jigs and who contribute to the fulfillment of the key indicators of the organization to which they belong.

  • Identify performance improvements and jig investment projects.

As our ideal candidate,

  • You have an Aeronautical, Electromechanical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or similar.

  • You have a minimum of 8+ years of experience in Tooling areas or 6 years as a Tool Engineer in another similar industry & 5 years in the aerospace industry.

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Project management

  • You comply with performance and improvement metrics.

  • You hold an advanced command of English.

  • You have demonstrable ability to interact effectively with other teams and suppliers as required to solve and troubleshoot highly complex, sophisticated and automated jig design and manufacturing problems.

  • You must have a high level of demonstrable knowledge in budget management and management of tooling suppliers and assembly simulators. You must have knowledge of design processes.
